Dr. Choi received a Best Paper Award at 2016 IAQVEC

Dr. Joon-Ho Choi (PI) and his collaborators, Prof. John Mutlow and Prof. Marc Schiler, have received the Best Paper Award at the 9th International Conference on Indoor Air Quality, Ventilation & Energy Conservation in Buildings (IAQVEC). IAQVEC is a premier international conference series, held once every three years, and it covers a broad range of key research areas with the goal of simultaneously improving indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and energy efficiency enhancing wellbeing and sustainability. He presented one of his recent research, entitled “Comfort at Workstation: Comprehensive POE Research on Office Environment of Southern California” at the conference. The research identified and resolved technical issues of the current post-occupancy evaluation methodologies based on the use of 400 IEQ datasets collected from office environments within the university and commercial office buildings (such as Perkins+ Will, Buro Happold Engineering, etc.) located in Southern California. The research findings are expected to contribute to establishing architectural design strategies to maximize occupants’ environmental satisfaction within limited project resources.
